Understand the benefits of a BPI Certification

category: BPI Certification author:

The BPI or the Building performance Institute was established in the year 1992 for resolving the conflict between home owners and building contractors. One of the major causes for the mistrust was the weatherization issue between the home owners and the building contractors. Most homes in the US that were privately built were facing severe weatherization problems due to sub standard construction by the builders which was actually a breach of trust.

A research was initiated to understand the real causes of this problem. As per the report, the major reason for the weatherization issue was lack of trained and skilled workers. The workers employed by the builders were not trained properly and neither did they have the necessary skills required for the building and construction industry.

This was one aspect that made the BPI come out with stringent building and construction standards. This move was meant to instill confidence in the home owners and at the same time assure the genuine builders who were caught in the cross fire. Builders and contractors who followed these norms were awarded the BPI Certification.

Over a period of time this certification process raised the standards of construction and building in the entire country. What started as a move to resolve issues has become a global leader for building and construction standards.

There are many benefits if you have a BPI certification. A certification will instill confidence in your customers and they will know that their builder is a professional who has already been tested for competency and has been found suitable for conducting the business.

By adhering to the BPI standards of construction, you are letting your customers know that you are a man of integrity and someone who can be trusted to build high quality homes and buildings. Finally, your certification will help you build upon your client network, thereby ensuring continuous work and profits.
