BPI sets the national standards for residential energy efficiency and maintains the building analyst credential, the most widely recognized energy audit certification in the country, namely; BPI Certification.

The basic energy audit credential is called the BPI building analyst. The certification can be earned in as little as five days. Step one is to attend an approved affiliate training course. Our classroom training consists of two days focussed on building science while the third day provides hands-on training with testing and diagnostic equipment such as the blower door, combustion analyser etc. Step two is a two hour written exam which consists of 100 multiple choice questions.
